I surprised myself ...yesterday I was in shock...today I shed tears when I was alone, for a dude that I never knew and that had no knowledge of my existence.

Dinwiddie talking about how he didn’t need anyone else’s validation after Kobe said that to him is moving man

Spencer Dinwiddie just gained a new fan, rooting for this guy the rest of his career.. knew he was underrated but he has a passion uncanny to a lot of others!

Russell said it best during Kobe's retirement "He was our Jordan". For a lot of 90's kids we knew Jordan, but we were babies and toddlers. So we couldn't truly appreciate him. At least not Bulls Jordan. We knew who he was and how great he was, but we didn't see him in his prime. But we did have Kobe. We knew how great he was. All those amazing shots, incredible handling of the ball, inspiring mentality. He was the one that we looked up to, the one inspired us to play basketball, or at least love it. He was the reason we got into basketball. He did so much for the sport. Man now I'm just sad...

Kobe always seemed immortal to me. I'll never be able to watch a kobe vid and feel the same. It's not sunk in yet that kobe, of all the people, kobe, is gone.

he was just starting life outside of basketball. Mamba mentality will forever live on. This is the most saddest I have been with a celebrity passing away. Gone way too early 🙏

I went to work 30 min before I learned that he died. I didn’t speak the whole shift, Cried in the staff room during my break. It broke my heart cuz Kobe helped me persevere, to be like The Black Mamba.

Spencer had me balling. He was an All-Star in Kobe's eyes and he didn't need the fan vote for it to matter at that point.
