Literally means that 98% of the urine they extract turns into water, not that the water they make has 2% pee in it. The 2% is all the not water in your piss being removed

The 2% is NOT mixed with the water, it is separate and highly concentrated

Edit: People are still confused how it works, so here's an analogy:

Say there is a box with 100 blue balls (represents water) and some yellow balls (represents urea particles).

Now you take out 98 blue balls out of it and place it in a different box. This 98% of total water is 100% pure.

What remains is 2 blue balls and some yellow balls in first box. This is the concentrated urine.

To everyone thinking it’s pee water. It’s filtered so purely they’re probably drinking some of the cleanest water available.

Edit: if it isn’t clear the 2% is what’s REMOVED from the final water. The leftover water is 100% pure with no urine.
