In this video, we will learn how to make NDVI with class range or Vegetation/Forest Cover Map in ArcGIS or ArcMap. Here, I'm using Lansat 8 Satellite Image for NDVI calculation.

➡️ NDVI = NIR-RED ÷ NIR+RED

In Landsat 8-9: NDVI = (B5-B4) ÷ (B5+B4)
In Landsat 4-7: NDVI = (B4-B3) ÷ (B4+B3)

➡️ What is NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)?

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) quantifies vegetation by measuring the difference between near-infrared (which vegetation strongly reflects) and red light (which vegetation absorbs). NDVI always ranges from -1 to +1.
