there is no way that ship is moving at all its buried under 20 feet of mud

These ideas are so absurd that you might as well include “use teleportation and beam the wreak from the oven floor” or “use time travel to prevent the sinking in the first place.”

That ship IS NOT coming up!!!! It's too far gone. Caved in, rotted, in pieces, ect.. Let it rest. It has its home and souls with it!

It would be like trying to lift a sandcastle without breaking it. It's fragile, rusted, decomposed and under immense pressure from the ocean.

Just a couple points why this shouldn't be done.

1. Even just visiting wreck is causing it to decay faster.
2. The wreck is nothing but sludge held in place by microbes and pressure, even a simple hand touching it would cause damage.
3. It is already collapsing, more rapidly than ever. So any attempt to split it further would just destroy it entirely.
4. The biggest issue, is this is one massive grave to over a thousand people with the ship acting as a massive tombstone. Removing it is like disturbing the grave.

The bow is 60+ feet in the mud, you’re better off sending down a small army of water jets to slowly push all that mud forward, clear the entire hull and take extremely high resolution video and photos of the side of the ship that’s been buried over a century to show the world the actual iceberg damage and maybe even some preserved hull paint.

You’re far better off raising Brittanic which is only 400 feet down and in a far more preservable condition to raise.

It would fall apart while it was being raised also its a grave site "Leave it alone"

i think the titanic should be brought up and preserved if at all possible, it would be a shame to lose her to history!

They should try that plan on the Titanic’s rescue ship, the RMS Carpathia first! She sank at a depth of somewhere between only 500 and 600 feet so it would be much easier to try it on her. It’s just crazy that despite sinking at that depth, no one ever found her until September of 1999, 14 years after the Titanic was finally found!

That's like digging up 1500 people's Graves I hope this never happens

People have been robbing from a grave site for years. That’s a shame. All those shoes lying around on the bottom scattered about…they used to have the feet of the dead in them. The bodies deteriorated away, leaving nothing but their shoes left behind. And they too probably wouldn’t be there, but the leather they’re made from has been treated so much with chemicals that they’re no longer capable of rotting away like they would have had all that leather still been in the original form of a cow’s hide.

She is that deep in the mud she isn’t going anywhere. Has anyone ever had their foot, shoe or boot stuck in mud? If you have you know what I’m getting at.

No likely the ship would probably break apart if they try to lift the Titanic from the seafloor, i mean i'd be very surprised if they could manage it without losing half the ship in the process

That ship will crumble on its way back up, but dont stress the chances of even getting it out the mud is almost impossible.
Leave it as it is.

If they want to raise an Olympic class ocean liner why don’t they raise the Britannic because it is in shallower water than its sister ship but it still is in two pieces but we should just leave them both where they now lie.

LOL I nearly fell off my chair. This is so ridiculous rather like the UK's HS2 railway. It is fragile think not much stronger than good card board and the stress of lifting it would tear it apart. The aft has significantly fallen apart and the engines are liable to fall out as you lift it. Finally what is the point? Its a international grave that should be left alone.

It should be brought up and preserved as a monument for all those who went down with her. As the years go on she deteriorates and will be gone forever.

4 things (1 that deep down the PRESSURE it would crumble coming up) (2 costs) (3 HOW WOULD WE BRING IT TO THE SHORE) (4 if we somehow bring it to the shore it will probably crumble with us putting it down)
