Growing in Godliness Pt. I - Series Overview
Welcome to "Growing in Godliness Pt. I." In this series, we explore the spiritual nutrients prescribed by scripture to foster growth in our relationship with God. Drawing from 2 Peter 1:1-4, we'll understand the virtues of godliness that inspire and mandate growth in our walk with the Father.
Series Highlights:
Identity in Christ:
Peter’s humility as a bondservant teaches us that in God's kingdom, humility is key. Our titles don’t define us; our servitude does.
Faith as the Foundation:
Our faith in Jesus qualifies us for the Father's work. There is one faith, essential for both salvation and healing, as emphasized by the early Church's five solas.
Grace and Peace Through Knowledge:
True knowledge of God, beyond academic understanding, brings grace and peace. It's about recognizing God's holiness and our need for Him.
Divine Nature and Growth:
God has provided everything necessary for life and godliness. Our spiritual growth depends on His divine nature shining upon us.
Living by God’s Promises:
By understanding and living in God's promises, we can lead healthy lives and partake in His Kingdom work, despite the world's corruption.
Conclusion:
Philippians 3:10-11 reminds us of the power of knowing Christ and partaking in His sufferings for the promise of resurrection. Let’s grow in our desire to know God, live godly lives, and find joy in our spiritual journey.
Prayer/Altar Call:
Join us in prayer as we seek to grow in our knowledge of God, living lives that please Him and bring us true fulfillment.
Scripture Reference: 2 Peter 1:1-4 (NASB 1995)
