Показать описание
Ports and protocols are used in networking to facilitate communication between devices on a network. Ports are numbered gateways on a device that allow communication to occur between different applications and services. Protocols are sets of rules and standards that govern how data is transmitted and received over a network.

In the CompTIA Network+ (N10-008) certification exam, candidates are expected to have a good understanding of common ports and protocols used in networking. This includes knowledge of TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), the suite of protocols used for communication over the Internet and other networks. Candidates should also be familiar with common protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SMTP, and DNS, and understand which ports they use. Additionally, candidates should understand the purpose and use of firewalls and how they can be configured to allow or block specific ports and protocols.
