I saw a video of @vikaskhannagroup Instagram, and it resonated with me so much that I thought of making a video about it. There are many instances where Indian habits or traditions are looked down upon, and @vikaskhannagroup did an amazing job addressing that.

Eating with hands is perceived unhigenic because lot of people culturally don't wash hands before eating.. Most indians wash hands thoroughly before eating food, even when eating with spoon.. it was surprising to see hand washing training videos during covid.. so wash your hands before eating 😅

We always wash our hands properly before and after eating. So there's no question about hygiene. How do people eat burgers and sandwiches? Not with a fork/ spoon, right? I never hesitate to eat my food with my hands.

I wish this goes for both ways. As an American, when I travelled to India for the first time when I was a kid, I got constantly bullied for my accent or the way I talk and do things and even get heavily judged by people when I wear western wear. Indians would say mean stuff about America on my face and when i say the same sentence back to them but replacing the word from America to Inidia, I used to get hated upon. I get that I am a minority and a foreigner to India, but that doesn't mean that I have to forget the little part of who I am just to fit in or please people. Like I wish respect for each others cultures and repect for people in general goes for both ways.

We eat chips, fries, and so on with our hands, so why is that not unhygienic by this logic?? There’s a such thing as washing your hands?? I am American but I really enjoy eating with my (clean) hands

Buuuut.. uh... mmm.. when in Rome, act like Romans... one can act as Indian as one wants or is when in India.. but I believe u shouldn't make people around u uncomfortable just to prove your point (& nobody can control or decide what makes someone uncomfortable)... I eat with hands at home but when at a restaurant, I don't.. but that doesn't mean I'm against my culture, right

I highly disagree with you. If you go different countires, you have to adopt atleast public manners of that country. This is called Integration. You can do whatever you want at home but follow written/ unwritten public manners.
This discussion isnt about weather eating with Hands is hygenic.

well i eat rice with spoon since young age...even my parents eat with spoon and even my friend circle they also eat with spoon...honestly i don't like my hands to be dipped in dal so its my personal choice as well...but if someone loves to eat that way then sure eat however you like your food to be eaten...but i don't like when people literally made chaos in the plate in the name of eating with hands..like eat with fingers to grab there is no need to include your palm and wrist on that...
