Atalanta with Percassi and Gasperini reached incredible heights by being smart, they never spent 40/50/60 million on someone, the most was 30, Gasperini ability to value players is probably unmatched in Italy, now they even have a multitude of attacking players that score for fun: Retegui, Lookman, Scamacca(Unfortunately injured) De Ketelaere, Samardzic and Zaniolo while having also added quality to the wings with Bellanova and Cuadrado and having an incredible defence in Hien, Kossonou, Scalvini(Who Just got back from an injury), Djimsiti and Kolasinac whilst having one of their biggest transfer campaigns they didn't lose money thanks to being able to sell players at a ridiculous value like Koopmeiners (60M) this year and Hojlund last year (80M).
As a fan of the club I'm proud of what this team has achieved thanks to smart business and not oil money.
I might have wrote too much but I just felt like this team deserved the recognition they deserve

They bought Scamacca last season from West Ham, who was struggling then and they got one of his best seasons.
Then, this season, when they lost him for injury, they brought in Retegui from Genoa and he's turned on, bringing in his best season as well.

It is insane how Atalanta might have seemingly decent (not world class) at best players on paper but they all fit the needs of the team nicely and function super well as a squad. Their recruitment and coaching absolutely deserve massive kudos.

One name you failed to mention is the President, Antonio Percassi. Not only does he know how to run a business, he's also a proper football man. Percassi used to play for Atalanta's youth team before pursuing entrepreneurship.
