Jaspreet, the 10-year bond yield passed the 3-month bond yield today, and looks like it might stay that way because of the expected Fed rate cut next week. Every time the 10-year yield passed the 3-month yield, a recession occurred about 4-5 months after. I'm not trying to be alarmist or anything, but I'd just like to hear your thoughts on it.

We have such a screwed up system. They brainwash you to buying things you don't need, then we are stuck stressing over paying it back while wanting more crap to buy. SMH I'm guilty of it so I know the pain and stress. after 40 I became more minimalist and invested my surplus. But now my kids are caught in this cycle and it sucks for them.

Yep. I was raised by folks who lived through the Great Depression (1928 - 1941) and learned the value of 'cash on hand' from them - avoid debt, keep cash on hand, invest in productive land and realestate (for income, not speculation), or in insured cash assets, and avoid the stock market - (sorry Jespreet). I'm not rich, but I am debt free with a pretty good lifestyle financed with cash and cash assets. We're past due for the next big crash. We're all going to suffer because of it. But many will suffer more than others (brother can you spare a dime).

The problem is that newly printed money will still be there when the credit comes back, along with the inflation, hence the ever increasing prices since the Fed was established. Money-printing is a tax just like any other, it's just sneaky because you don't notice it right away.
