Thanks for this post. Excellent tutorial! I found it immensely helpful and saved a lot of money by doing this myself.

Any suggestions on the best process for reattaching the pivot bracket?
-For me, that is the most challenging step of the project. I'm not sure I see how to do that withour removing the wheel well cover.

If you are lvl up you front end do the grill when you do the light assembly replacement. Also a good time to hit your front end with some canned air. I found a few little pockets of dust build up.

I would also after getting the lamps in place try them before putting the bumper back in place. I've seen brand new lamps with bad bulbs from shipping.

Thanks for the video. I was wondering if there was an easy way to replace the inner "parking/city" light on these units. It looks like a PITA to get to and was hoping I wouldnt have to remove the whole unit to get to it. My initial thought is to use a pair of long needle nose pliers. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!!

Nice where did you get the new one's? I have the Xenon lights is that what yours were? Also I didn't see how the ball and Pivot bracket went back in? Maybe I should remove the wheel to see how I'm taking apart first? Thank you again! Awesome.

Attn: 2011 & 2012 ML 350 owners! I know how to replace the passenger side front running light without removing the bumper!! All you have to do is
1. Turn the steering wheel/tire maximum to the left.
2. With a large screw driver, directly at the bottom of the head light, remove the 3 plastic press on security buttons holding the black plastic fender flap that runs along the front bumper.
3. Carefully peel back the flap away from the bumper and... BINGO! You can now reach up and easily unscrew the cap on the running head light.
4. Using a flash light you can disconnect the bulb and replace it with the new one.
5. Then just reverse the assembly process. It took me a day to figure it out because the driver side running light is easy to get too. But the other side is blocked by all kinds of wire harness gadgets.. GOOD LUCK ( :

Great video. Ignore the folks who cannot seem to turn down the volume on their computer as they watch. The only confusing part is with the bumper and the 'bar' that was removed behind the wheel well cover with only taking one screw out on the external side. How does it detach on the motor side? Do you need to detach it or can it just hang loose until you are done? Thanks for any clarification.

What would be the difference in removal on a 2009 model GL550 head lamp assy?

I didn't see the pivot bracket reinstalled. Did I miss something?

I’m currently stuck on remove the pivot bracket. The video doesn’t provide enough detail on detaching the corners of the bumper to access that last screw that holds the light assembly. I’m a little concerned about breaking some hidden clip or other plastic part.

when you replace the old with the new one aren't there supposed to have a ballast and control module i didnt see them at all in the one installed but you just plugged the 4 connectors i think?
