Missed a crucial moment where the mc pretty much abandoned everyone and starts kicking them out of his life one by one and this is a large reason she wanted to end herself because she thought that by coming back into his life, she managed to ruin it again by splitting everyone apart so she thinks that by removing herself then everything will go back to normal.

I remember when this movie first came out. I was amazed that Japan had finally made any anime that brought awareness to deaf people. This isn't a love story to begin with but more about a boy finding a reason to live.

The movie really hits close to home. I am deaf in one ear when i was 5 years old (Never stick a Q-tip in your ear people!) and i remember schoolmates bullying me. It got so bad that i almost jumped off from a bridge over the highway. 3 girls who were older than me pulled me back.

guilt mixed with anxiety is one hell of a nasty feeling your heart feels really heavy and you just want the feeling to end and the solution is to face it but that is really hard depending on the circumstances so heavy drugs or suicide is sadly the simplest solution a guilt broken mind is capable of.

My mom is deaf and she got her hearing aides when I was younger. She actually cried when she heard my sister and I eating icecream cones. My youngest son had problems with his speech and it took years for him to get through it. When I watched this flick, it brought up all of those memories dealing with those issues.

A Silent Voice was an amazing film and I like how Shoya was able to communicate with Shoko and asked him if they can be friends through sign language. I learned about sign language in high school and it was interesting

Never heard of this anime before but it really connected me to ishida, as we have the same mind set and similar pasts, I used to bully people as a child and even when I stopped doing that I was hurting people bc of my anger and now I just feel the guilt and it is being bottled up inside.When I see other people I also think they have a much better life than me and deserved and are way better than me, me who just sits around doing nothing to help bc I just cannot accept compliments.And here I am, a lonely scum with no connections to anyone at all, not family, not friends, and having a breakdown after this video and constantly bringing myself down, and even when I say to myself to not do this anymore, I do it all over again
