i consider myself the biggest islander fan in the world ..heck i was born in the year of their inception. I want to say this . WE had the hall of famers like mike bossy, dennis potvin, billy smith, bryan trottier those types of hall of famers but let me tell you why we are the greatest team in the history of professional sports...the record speaks for itself. 19 straight playoff series won in a row 4 straight cups and robbed of a fifth. The #1 reason for all our success aside from the talent, is the character and integrity of our great coach mister al arbour, our gm mister bill torrey and our great players like bob nystrom . We sincerely thank you for all have done for long island and representing our community with such class . Not to mention the kind of excellence the islanders achieved is just unattainable, somehow we did it the great champions we are. What a unbelievable accomplishment 19 straight playoff wins 4 straight cups 5 straight finals.trophy after trophy, yet incredibly humble. This just brings tears to my eyesg

Nystrom was one of a kind, this humble interview shows that he still is, I attended and watched the Isls, from 1972 till early 1980 back in new york, when I moved to Ca. there was no cable then and local channels didn't show the games so I missed their four strait championship, I still have their jersey.

I was a college student when the Islanders won their first Stanley Cup. Hard to believe that a lousy expansion team could rise so quickly to become one of the best teams ever in hockey. Lots of credit to the owners, management, coaches, and scouts for their foresight and leadership. I always enjoyed Bob Nystrom's hard work and style of play on the ice. These videos have shown what a great sportsman and role model he truly is.

I'm a long time Maple Leafs fan but I always enjoyed watching Bob Nystrom play. To me he was one of the original power forwards. The dude could do it all. SUPER TOUGH SWEDE.

Like a lot of guys in their mid to late fifties and older, I watch a lot of old school hockey fights… it’s patty cakes in todays game…guys trying to punch each others visors. For a thinner lighter guy than some of the real heavyweight bangers f yesteryear, Nystrom was an excellent fighter. Pound for pound, one of the very best of all time. It would also seem, one of he nicest humblest guys too.
