My set came with a hole in the bass drum so I didn’t have to do this but I did with my old set it works really well actually

Man the way I do it is I take a jig saw or a sawzaw and cut it it works well if you have steady hands like me and if you don’t know why you put holes In kick drums it’s so it helps air escape
