Can you figure out how to fit 6 Nails on top of a small wooden stick? What seems to be impossible in the beginning will eventually be possible if you use the right trick! One of my favorite puzzles. Difficulty 3/5.

This puzzle drove me nuts. In training for a job, they made everyone in the training class break in to groups of 4 or 5 or something along those numbers and work together to sovle as a team building exercise, I assume. Anyway, it is NOT as easy as it looks to figure out and I'm willing to bet even a skilled puzzler would take a little time to figure it out. It's very simple, yet extremely clever. You can make it at home and show to co-workers or friends and family and drive them nuts. I highly recommend, if you're reading this before watching the video, to wait and try to sovle this puzzle on your own first. Once you know the solution, you'll never forget it and this is a simple puzzle that is very fun with a moderate challenge that will feel very satisfying if you sovle yourself. Give it a shot!

Wonderful solution. I think sometimes the impossibility of other solutions can force the exploration of unique ideas. I suspected this kind of solution, but I wasn't able to see exactly how to do it before you finished the video. This is one of my favorites.

I offer this puzzle in my puzzle classes for elementary aged students in summer school. I have the single nail on a stand and a tray of as many as 40 or more nails. Once the students know the balancing trick a lot of them have balanced all of the nails, as many as 50 at a time on the single nail. They just keep stacking sets of 10 on top of each other. I can't do it but they can!

As soon as you laid out the rules for the puzzle, I immediately realized it was going to be an interlocking trick similar to the knives balancing on a fork bar trick.
Although, I also thought the final solution would look more like the knives but this works too.

my teacher was sick and the substitute had so many cool items and puzzles and he had this!!! my mind was amazed Bback in 4th grade
