I recently got my Huawei Band 9. I love its comfort, but I am having an issue with the software?

I noticed that when I do other workouts like Strength training, for example, and I initiate it on the band, it tracks the workout... but it doesnt count that workout as data in which to close the activity ring.

However, if I iniate a run or a walk or a cycle ON THE PHONE app, it then counts THOSE workouts towards closing my rings.

Am I doing it wrong? Is it a user error?
