What is IaC (Infrastructure as Code)?

IT infrastructure management has been a historically manual and difficult process. But IaC, or Infrastructure as Code, changed that. IaC manages IT infrastructure as software, rather than through physical components. IaC brings benefits like speed and efficiency, but has some tradeoffs, too, like needing additional tools and increasing developer responsibility.
