This song is inspired by a band called The United States of America, whose only album is a psychedelic masterpiece and time capsule of the weirdness of the late 60s. Their songs addressed the ugliness and hypocrisy of social norms of the time through a very lysergic lens. Their influence can also be heard in groops like Stereolab and Broadcast.
