A mile marker-19 yrs ago, Nov 28, '03, an unknown series of events occurred changing the lives of the Highleys in Montgomery, AL forever. The day after Thanksgiving, Mont Highley IV left his mother & father’s home to head to the family hunting property, “The Farm,” about 25 mi away in Shorter. Mont made some calls that eve & at one point was seen at a gas station a few miles from The Farm. There were no conf'd sightings or conversations w/Mont after 9:35pm that night. Though his truck was found by a home a few mi from the Farm, he had disappeared.

After he vanished, many searches w/hundreds of people occurred. But Mont would not be found until Jan 14, '04. A local resident, Ted Johnson, called authorities & soon the Highley's would hear unfathomable news – Mont had been found in an unused grain silo on Ted's property. An investigation ensued & Mont’s death was named a homicide.

In recent yrs there hasn’t been much movement. The case remains open & unsolved. But, this yr, the case seems to be picking up. People who knew Mont &/or lived in the area have started sharing recollections on our SM posts, such as a truck seen leaving the Farm in the early AM. SBI continues to follow up on info such as this, as well as gathering addt'l info, in pursuit of justice for Mont.

The Highleys have all experienced great loss but persist w/such grace, faith & fierce determination for Mont. We hope you watch this video and feel the connection we feel to this family.

We stand with the Highleys & for Mont. We remain vigil until justice has been brought to those who took him from his loved ones.

We & his family ask all of you from that area who knew Mont or any of his acquaintances, to please come fwd if you have any knowledge of events, conversations, etc. No matter how small or big, what you know may be the missing connection.
