It bothered Jermaine that he really wanted the spotlight and worked to have it. Michael became part of the group after Katherine urged Joe to let him be a part of the group. Michael just wanted to be around his brothers, but everything came so natural to him. They worked hard to become stars, but Michael had that "it" factor that made him a superstar.

I think it’s VERY unfair to compare Jermaine and Michael. They were 2 totally different men onstage and off. Their gifts were not the same at all. Just when I am about to feel bad for Jermaine and sympathize with his feelings of having his brotherhood bond broken and betrayed I remember his bold and repeated philandering as a husband, and even the mother of his brother's kids not being off limits to him and I can't. He just seems hypocritical, he wants unconditional loyalty from others, but isn't a person that gives it.
