Just a quick add-on. You mention Edelkrone support - this is only the case with new. If you buy used Edelkrone and don't have the original proof of purchase you will get nothing out of them. They don't support repairs of used equipment, sell spares or provide repairs. If you're used to support from companies like Canon and Nikon, which will fix anything, this is a bit of a slap in the face and can involve years of waiting for spares to come up on youtube. I had to wait a couple of years before I found used wheel assemblies for the sliderone!

Big thanks for all your Edelkrone reviews. Just pulled the trigger and am excited to try some techniques in architectural videography I haven’t seen before. One thing: zero reviewers across YouTube mention that all power options are sold separately. Even B&H buried this info deep in the description. I was blow away to find out that I needed a separate power cable just to turn on my new slider or pan head. To anyone reading this and thinking of buying, make sure you order the power cord and/or batteries AND battery mount plate in the case of the slider motor.

If you use a wedge between the slider and the head, you can level off the head and then pan on an incline. Also, the best way to do inclines is to use counterweights. On a standard slider I mount a pully on the end, attach the cord to the platform, and hang a water bottle (or two). On an Edelkrone, there is no stable end, so I mount the pulley off the base and attach the cord to the downward end of the slider. Doesn't have to balance perfectly, just take most of the load off. With this approach, you can go vertical, which is better than a jib if you're climbing a wall and don't want the distance to change.

Great review! Just one question - I'm noticing a lot of focus jumping around the place in your demo shots, are you using the focus motor on fly by wire lenses for this? or is this autofocus?

Hi, I was wondering if you can tell me the Benro tripod model that you are using in this video that is holding up the Edelkrone slider. It looks a lot less bulky and lightweight compared to the Benro A673TM that you are recommending but it seems to be doing its job in the video. Thanks for the review Adam. I am interested in buying the Edelkrone slider but I need to select between the Edelkrone SliderONE v2 OR SliderPLUS v5 Compact. I am not able to select between the two.
