An ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner, Ozark) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple (Dianne Wiest, I Care a Lot, and Kevin McNally, Pirates of the Caribbean film series) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford. When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess, Across the Universe) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself. Additional supporting cast includes Marli Siu (Everything I Know About Love), Andrew Buchan (All the Money in the World), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean) and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka).

2:23 The creature design is actually pretty cool and original. Black, and covered in what seems to be crushed colored gems.

I'm not sure what to think. I was hoping a prequel to Rosemary's Baby would be about the history of the building such as The Trench Sisters, Adrian Marcato, etc., but this one appears to be the same thing as the original, just with a different woman.

This looks pretty good. Ill give it a chance. I saw the prequel of The Omen already, that was pretty heavy. Now comes the origins of another demonic classic

looks like they gave Rosemary's Baby the "Suspiria" treatment. Might be worth a watch

If Minnie doesn't make her chocolate mouse, I'm rioting.

That Roman looks so much like the Roman in Rosemary’s Baby! And Minnie must be proud of Dianne

Not knowing what it was about, 30 seconds in I was about to say it resembled 'Black Swan' meets 'Rosemary's Baby'. So I guess they got the right vibe!

Hurm. i'm with a few of you here relative to 1) what we thought the prequel was going to be and that it not be 95% Rosemary's Baby and 2) it is such a rarity to have slow build suspense and deeply disturbing yet quiet horror - most things, this included, are so in your f-ing face that they fail to be frightening at all.

Rosemary was the only one who actually gave birth, any prequel with any other girl would be a failed attempt by that elder couple

SPOILER ALERT:
This movie takes liberties with the original story. Terry lived WITH the Castevets, not in the apartment that Rosemary and her husband eventually moved into. An old lady named Mrs. Gardenia – who had been part of the coven but quit – had lived there. (She was apparently so terrified of the Castevets and the rest of the coven that she single-handedly moved a dresser in front of the door that connected their apartments.)'

I’m very protective of the Rosemarys Baby, but I trust Natalie Erika James to give us something new and interesting 🤞🤞

I will watch all of Julia Garner's work.

Does Rosemary's Baby really need a prequel? Or would a direct sequel to the Original be better, ignoring the events of Whatever Happened to Rosemary's Baby?

I seriously think it’s bizarre that Dianne Wiest is doing a full on Ruth Gordon impression, I think her doing her usual voice would’ve been much creepier - it’s also odd that she’s doing that voice but is styles to look like Laura

I didn’t even know what this was about but I just saw Julia Garner and I knew I was in. She’s just an absolutely phenomenal actress and so much fun to watch just absolutely disappear into her characters!
