Says “Oh, Calm DOWN” just like someone would tell an upset child. The STRESS on the words is PERFECT! I say this a lot — I LOVE BIRDS! Growing up, someone calling another a “Bird Brain” was considered an insult. Having raised birds myself AND listening to the birds like Giz, Apollo, Einstein, and a couple of buggies who passed…. I consider the comment (Bird Brain) to be a COMPLIMENT! Just think - their brains may not be large, but those little buggers say AND DO amazingly! The first time my girls potty trained our Quaker Parakeets and three cockatiels, I was shocked…. The birds would squat but stop before dropping anything until one of the kids carried them to the trash in. My mother & father were so impressed with our little bird family, that dad went and brought home a cockatiel for Mom. Until then, they would only have canaries - dad never cared much for budgies until he saw what we taught ours. Giz is hilarious with the sentences she (he?) comes up with! Carrying on a conversation, no matter how brief, is more proof of their impressive little brains. All it takes is a little love and attention - positive attention - and you have a devoted friend for life. I have to add — I LOVE the “Mom beats me” and the little mischievous laugh. I hunt down new videos especially on days when I am hurting and need the smile….. Thank You for sharing your feathered friend. (Have to add - Frick & Frack are two baby budgies new in my house. Their little heads cock to the side when they are watching these videos……. )
