part of the reason why the Flex line of coilovers are so affordable is in the damper itself. It's a sealed unit that was designed so that it can be almost completely manufactured by automated robots. They can produce more in less time using less parts vs a rebuildable unit. Since the cost of rebuild is often more expensive than buying a sealed unit, it makes a lot of sense for the people who don't do professional racing but still want good quality affordable coilovers.

I'm glad this video exists. I've been racking my brain over this decision, and while I have to wait a while longer to make this mod, I'm gonna go with Tein coilovers on my GE Fit Sport. While there are many who bash them and yes the old adage applies: you have to pay to play, I'm confident that buying their brand will be a good purchase for my car. Fact is, I don't drive my car that much(only 11K miles since I bought it 2 years ago) and probably won't run into all the issues that others have run into. I want new wheels and that means the car needs to be lowered too, so I'd rather buy something tried and tested and with a good reputation.

"Tein is just so easy to get a hold of..."

Many Subaru owners in my region love Tein coilovers.

from the decent sets to fully adjustable active suspensions.

if you use is track, they got one

drift, they got it too

off road / rallying they got that too.

before Magnaride came about

Tein already has a system called the EDFC or Electronic Dampering Force Controller and you can adjust your suspension settings on the fly in the car without taking out a wrench or spanner.

now the latest version can do active suspension settings for daily use or track use.

running the lowering springs on my Subaru Crosstrek

will switch over to their coilovers in the future

10/10 rating

You guys show up in my feed so much, I thought I was ALREADY a subscriber! Glad I checked cuz I wasn't and corrected that mistake. I'm almost 50 and have been modifying cars for half my life yet I STILL learn so much from watching your channel! Love your videos and love this channel; keep 'em coming! 👍🏼👍🏼

What I like about Tein is if you live in the US and called their customer service and unable to answer your question, they can actually transfer you to one of their in house engineers who works in their Downey office.

I have Tein cruising masters on my SC and they're fantastic

I got mine for $350 used from a guy that got a little over zealous on nitrous and blew his engine up still in good shape 😎 I daily my car and they are ideal for a comfortable ride with sharp handling

Really enjoying my Tein dampening adjustable coilovers on my CB7. By the way, it might be worth mentioning TEIN stands for TEchnical INnovation.

I remember rebuilding my Tein coilover and every part was unique to their shock. The one thing I don't like about them. Is that they use a 2.75 sprig diameter and not the standard 2.5 so buying replacement springs means going through them.

The OG’s know. Daily driving and entry autocross for $500 has always been amazing. They haven’t changed their prices in almost 20yrs. The R&D is historic and if I remember, you can send parts back at no cost and possibly upgrade with your specifications. Long time fan, never had to send anything back bc they are quality!

Here in Hawaii there are a ton of Japanese and I’ve been into imports since the 90’s I’ve always heard Tein pronounced exactly the way you said it.
