Best Books by JD Salinger

JD Salinger wrote much more than just The Catcher in the Rye. Franny & Zooey is excellent. Both books can be found at almost any retail bookstore.

Nine Stories is far and away his best book. Love all 4 of his books but Nine Stories is one of my all-time favorite short story collections.

I disagree that you should read Zooey before Catcher in the Rye because in my opinion the theme in Zooey is more mature than the themes in Catcher in the Rye. I think Catcher in the Rye is perfect if you’re in your teens but I think both Franny and Zooey are better reads when you get to your twenties. Franny & Zooey just seems a lot more mature to me and I think they get even better the more life experience you have because I think you get a better grasp of what those stories are trying to say.
