Mr. Hykade, thank you for this personal and intimate look on your career. I watched 'Ring of Fire' when I was 15 in Zlin (Czech Republic), where it was shown as part of a film festival I happened to be upon. It was one of the first artistic animation shorts I encountered and the first to impress me thoroughly. I later recorded it on arte and have watched and shown it many times. Over the years I became a sucker for good animation shorts and have kept a close eye on you and Filmbilder (and the nfb). 'Ring of Fire' stayed in me as the portal to the world of animation shorts, a world of unbridled originality, as well as a prime example of a different level of narrative and vision. A very poignant reminiscense on sexuality, love, redemption and a mythic and spiritual approach to human psychology. Thank you for carrying on and putting all this marvellous pieces of art on the internet for free.
