For the people who are confused: This is a trailer for the "BG3 addon" that will be included in the VTT being developed by WoTC currently codenamed "Project Sigil." It is not developed by Larian Studios, nor is it part of BG3.

Gotta love the over-commodification of a hobby that takes place entirely within your imagination. Not that this is a new trend for DnD, it goes back to the TSR days as well. Oh, you like playing wizard? Gotta buy multiple books for your spell list! For anyone trying to decouple with DnD, there are free and open source TTRPG's out there. Basic Fantasy RPG is a good example for people wanting a Basic/Expert (pre ADnD) style game.
