TT Loops - Northwest Loops

In this video, Transit Toronto editor James Bow puts together a video essay (edited by Damian Baranowski) on the TTC's bus loops. These facilities are modest bus-only roadways at the end of routes, which allow buses to turn around or layover out of the way of traffic. The TTC built many of them, especially at the edge of old Metropolitan Toronto, but as land values rise, these are slowly disappearing in favour of on-street loops or larger terminal facilities serving multiple routes at major trip generators. Here, on November 7, 2020, James visits six loops in the northwestern part of Toronto, and the modern terminal that may replace some of them.

NOTE: A correction since this video was published. We said that Humberwood Loop was the second westernmost loop in Toronto, thinking that Rathburn Loop was further west. That's incorrect. Humberwood has Rathburn beat by a hair.

Excellent research! I didn't even know some of these loops existed. Thank you kindly for putting this video essay together! I had the TTC upgrade the Insignia Sign at Yonge-Steeles loop after seeing how old the logo was on here.

So what will happen with the Humber wood loop when the Finch West LRT is completed in 2023? I heard they are discontinuing the 36 buses buses going along that route. So how will people get access to that line, for individuals who live around that area. I hope TTC has a plan for that.
