Great documentary. Geology is a very underrated science.

However I'm surprised that when he dwelt with Vesubius he did not even mention the huge caldera it is part of and the Campanian Ignimbrite mega-eruption that shaped the prehistory of Europe, probably being the main culprit in the penultimate phase of Neanderthal extinction.

Some of the rain that falls on the rain forest just came from the desert. You don't have to distinguish it with measurements; common sense and hard science will tell you it happens. The desert is not completely dry yet. Just like Salt Lake in Utah.
