We just got back from our Las Vegas vacation today from Southern Bavaria, Germany, and we stayed at the Planet Hollywood for 6 nights. It was AWESOME! The price of the room was financially reasonable, not far at all from the Harry Reid Airport, and it was one of the best hotel rooms we ever had! Lots of space, extra clean, and it was in the middle of everything on the strip. Extra-friendly staff, great views (it's across from the Bellagio) so we saw the fountain shows every night from our hotel window (I actually found the spot where they filmed the scene from Ocean's 11, and watched the Bellagio's fountain show from the exact same spot, also). Air-conditioned rooms, two pools, jacuzzi-style baths, walk-in showers, and if there was a problem, the maintenance staff was there in MINUTES to correct any deficiencies. Soooo (!!!) many shops and restaurants in the mall area, some giving many veteran's discounts, and my son even had his 14th birthday party in the Sugar Factory there, and they actually sang Happy Birthday to him, personally, and even did a dance routine for him! PH is a gold mine of a hotel/resort for those of us "blue-collar common folks" on vacation there, and I highly recommend it to those who visit the Las Vegas Strip! I've never, ever, been to a place so professional and customer-oriented before, yet so friendly and

The last time in vegas we went to oceans one and were told the wait was 20 minutes but the turn over was quick and only waited 5 to 7 minutes. For lunch we both had a burger and beer for just over $20 total. I would suggest to anyone who follows this great youtube channel to go to oceans one for a meal. It's a large dining room and their 20 minute wait disclaimer is just a formality.

I mentioned in your last Vegas post that I’ve never had any desire to visit Vegas, but I think this posting has changed my mind! It looks like it would be a lot of fun!

I’m a single woman in her mid-60s, and I prefer to travel solo, so maybe you can showcase some places or ideas for seniors or solo travelers? Thanks!

We stayed at the Planet Hollywood last week, I agree with the points you made Aly. I would add that you have to pay for pool services, WIFI, early check-in, and other amenities. Just double check the fine print on any services before you go. Very easy to Lyft from the hotel anywhere on the strip quickly and efficiently. The mall attached is super convenient with many food options.

I echo your thoughts about PH. I stayed here in December and found it central and easy to get to different places. I DID try the $20 trick and got this huuuuge room on the 51st floor complete with a bar, dining room, living room, and two bathrooms. I believe it would normally go for $700 a night. The funniest part is that the room had nine (I counted them) pictures of Sly Stallone scattered throughout the room. My only downside is that I found the walls thin and I could hear a conversation in the next room as though the people were in the same room. But I would stay here again.

We have stayed at PH twice and we will again in May. We have stayed lots of other places but by far this is our favorite hotel/casino. You hit on all of our favorite things about including size, location, and FOOD! The bathtubs are an absolute luxury item in Vegas too. One other thing we love is the fridge but the fact that we can go to an ABC store and not have to carry a case of water a mile to my hotel.

Stayed at PH in January. On a Sunday night, waited about 15 minutes at the computer kiosk, and when trying to check in, it wouldn't let me and I had to wait another 15 minutes to check in at the desk.

At first Aly I thought this was going to be some April Fool's prank like "Why I Think Circus Circus Is The Best In Vegas!" But a minute into it I knew it was going to be a very good review. Thanks so much! If I didn't already plan my stay at Mandalay Bay I would definitely make a reservation there. I love the location & Food options. Thanks so much for recommending the Plannin site also!

I just stayed at PH last week. I'm not a gambler, but in terms of location the hotel itself is among the best on the Strip. My room was a Fountainview room with a King bed. I had only a single window; I'm guessing the room that you stayed in a couple of months ago was a better/upgraded room.

PH is great for cheap eats. Earl of sandwich is always a go to for me on dinner breaks from neighboring resort poker tournaments

If you go to Cabo Wabo ask them to make you a Waborita its not on the menu but its Sammy Hagars signature drink. Its my 1st stop everytime I'm in vegas.

After the PH restaurants theme I was expecting more from P.H when it opened, for a little bit more I can stay at Mandalay Bay ❤ or on a budget I stayed at Flamingo or Horseshoe (ballys) as long as rooms are newly renovated ❤

The once had a front desk where a $20 tip would get you a wonderful strip view. Now it's a kiosk, no human contact so good luck with that.
