Smudging ceremony at OIMC Immersion Experience

Yewon Park, a Boston University School of Theology student who attended the Oklahoma Indian Mission Conference Immersion Experience March 9-12, 2023, in Oklahoma, is “smudged” by retired educator Henrietta Mann, emeritus professor of Montana State University, where she headed the Native American Studies program. Smudging is a Native American custom to cast out negativity in a person while also putting protection around them to ward off threats. Video by Jim Patterson, UM News.

I am a Methodist and also I am from Mexico I understand the culture but as a followers of Jesus I do not think this is necessary I believe the Power of the Holy Ghost it's all the protection I need, I don't need to back to my ancestors Aztecs and do those rituals to get protection
