EXIF data can also be modified or faked lol. It's unreliable to rely on it, but it is a super quick hack whenever it works and you could check it rather quickly, so it doesn't hurt to check is what I'm saying

Once, just to teach myself some Python, I wrote a Discord bot that would monitor images people post, see if they had EXIF data attached, then either auto delete the message or message the person who posted it to warn them.

Wrote the code, got the bot up and running, but was seeing a weird bug. It kept telling me there was no EXIF data on any images, even ones I uploaded on purpose to test it out.

Turns out yeah, like you said, Discord automatically strips EXIF data from images to protect people. My bot turned out to be 100% pointless!

You know, it's really not hard to identify geographical features once you know what to look for. The UK has really unique grass textures. The clumps have a different look compared to anywhere else in the world.

That combined with the proximity to that thick of a fog and the flatness of the terrain really tells you a lot.
