Thanks for the review! I have this in my library and do pull it out from time to time. Love it (I also am a sucker for space themes).

Still one of my fav 2-player games! Would be so cool to see a re-release, now that Catan: Starfarers is back :D

So great that this game is „rediscovered“. Always loved Sternenschiff Catan.

I actually have this but haven't played it in 7 years or so. BUT I kept it for good reason and now I want to play it again

I have fond memories of this game too. Would love to see a reprint.

This is an excellent idea for a series. It could have been called Cult of the Old. In any case really looking forward to Tom reviewing some old and maybe overlooked games, though there is the slight issue of actually being able to get your hands on these games. If every other game reviewed in this series is still in print then that is a reasonable level of accessibility. If more than 50% of the games reviewed in this series are out of print then it's going to be hard to watch.

I think these series of videos should also be called aka "Games That Need a Reprint" :-)

Someone seriously need to reprint this, with expansions adding new variables like encounters, planets and different pirates.
I'm so happy I found this for an acceptable price on Ebay around five years ago. Still play it from time to time.

One of the most useful features in this game that is sadly lacking in the card games of Catan are the arrow tokens that you rotate to show how many resources of each type one has
In the CATAN card game one had to rotate your resource tiles to show how many resource you have of each
This meant having to pick up the tile and rotate it
The idea of having the small arrows is an excellent idea and should be incorporated in to all the Catan tile games
An alternative which we used was to take the Risk tokens and put the on each tile as they accumulated stock
Worked very well

Thanks for the review. I own and enjoy North Wind. North Wind at 2 players takes about 30 minutes, so Starship Catan looks a little meatier and longer. Might be different enough that I want to acquire this one as well if I get the chance.

At 5:03 it legit looks like the die just spun out of your fingers on its own and then picked up momentum and flew across the table never seen anyone roll like that before

This is my favourite game with Catan in the name.

Thanks for the review, Tom! I wonder if this game could have been better as a coop game instead of a competitive game.

Man I wish they would reprint this. Since Starfarers was reprinted, fingers are crossed!

I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT MADISON OF MADNESS
(I'm new to board game and very interested)

1) what are the must have expansion for this game.

2)If I buy 2 or more expansion how does it all works together_

like for example do I only add 1 expansion at a time on a single playthrough then remove the corresponding "add-ons" of that expansion at the end of gameplay and then add the "add-ons" of the new expansion pack

Or I can just add as many add-ons as I want in a single player

Please do Ad Astra as part of this series. I'd like to sell my copy on eBay. :-P
