Vingegaard will never be able to ride a grand tour without being one of the favorites again, his first tour, was supposed to be a supporting act, and now in 2nd - that's massive

I watched the whole day and it was mostly so so riding (glorious scenery as ever) but then that last climb was fantastic biking and the last 8 km epic for the ages.
I though Carapaz played by the norms of racing - this is not a coffee social ride. It might have paid off but I think he went just too early. Vingegaard showed maturity and sheer grit in riding back onto the wheel of Pogacar and got justice in coming second. He is one for the future.
Pog showing he is definitely head and shoulders best overall rider this year.

The smirk on Pogacar’s face 400m from the finish

That was electrifying to watch. Especially as I got to see the lads in person on the flats. Tadej’s smile while sitting on Carapaz’s wheel was both terrifying and exciting. Can say that this and the Cav Carcassone sprint have been my favourite stage endings this year

1:14 You need to make a video about how most of the UAE team seems to have started copying Pogačar's trademark hair out of the helmet style. I wonder if that is part of the secret behind his success and why UAE did so well for him today?

Tadej explained why he wanted the win so badly. One of the UAE manager has been diagnosed with cancer and the treatment started around today or something of the sort. So they wanted to send him some support through that stage performance.

Hope the body is holding up LR. Love the videos mate, you make the tours digestible and interesting for us not able to watch the full 4-5 hour stages. Thanks for the analysis and work.

Anyone hating on Carapaz's tactics is clearly new to the sport... this type of stuff is part of the game... always has been, always will be. Stellar performance by El Locomotura, he's animated the GC battle since the first week and is the only one willing to take it to Pogacar repeatedly. Whether or not successive attacks are the most effective move is a different discussion, but it makes for great racing/viewing.

I was watching on eurosport and I almost spat out my dinner on the table when I heard Wiggins saying after finnish, that pogačar should have let carapaz win, because he already has yellow and he could have gotten an alliance with ineos for tomorrow 🤕

I thought it was pretty obvious after the first 2/3 accelerations where he didn't get gapped at all and it was just all facial expressions

6:26 Yeah, you nailed it. Those tactics are a part of cycling, so it's fair enough. Far from a gentleman move though, as he himself also gained a huge benefit for the high pace set by Vingegaard and Pogačar as they dropped Urán. He could've helped himself and the two others by pulling as well and gaining even more time on Urán. But he went greedy. But perhaps it was the best move for him. Maybe he would've been dropped as well if he had pulled his weight? Who knows? Maybe what he did was the only thing he could do.

For me, it was also a bit annoying because I rooted for Vingegaard and Pogačar. Pogačar because he's such a young superstar and I want to see him break records, and Vingegaard because I'm Danish. So had Carapaz pulled and got dropped by Pogačar and Vingegaard, then all the better in my eyes :)

7:15 I sure hope Pogačar goes for the 3rd stage win and the polka jersey like last year. Then he'll even have a chance to better his record from last year when he won 3 jerseys and 3 stages if he can manage the last TT as well. That would be epic to watch, and oh my what a statement to make for Roglič and Bernal waiting at the Vuelta.

Imagine crashing trying to hold Nibali's wheel going downhill and still making it home in time to record a pod and a highlights video, fair play LR 😂👏 Maybe Benji should get you a descending coach like for Evenepoel... No, but seriously, I am really glad you are alright 🙂
