Jena, your description of the YSL Palette is spot on. It is very light on the lids and is meant to give a "water colour wash". I own this palette as well as the Holiday Face Palette which are two very different products. The latter is a face based palette with 2 highlights, 2 blushes and 6 eye shadows. The Paris Palette is meant as a 10 shade eye palette which could cause problems for those who are not confident with working with these textures and different shades. As artists will know, water colour is one of the hardest mediums to work with. I absolutely love this palette yet for the reasons put forward. I like that I can easily blend the shades, they are feather light on the lids, the colour story can create endless looks and the quality is incredible including the glamorous palette. I do not have any issues with the shades as I am an artist which makes it easier for me to understand colour and blendability. If you're looking for a palette with a simple, laid out colour story, this may not necessarily be the palette for you.

1. Harvey is the sweetest. 2. Bobbi Brown. Oye. I’ve dumped the last two palettes. So disappointing. In the early 90’s her eyeshadows were sold as singles and all mattes. They were amazing. After Estée Lauder bought her company in 1995 things went downhill IMO. I kept buying out of nostalgia and hoping for the best but sadly I’m done. Except for lip products. They can be nice. 3.
