During a rally, whenever Coco slices, Iga makes an error. There's the blueprint for the rest of the players. Iga can't play sliced balls.

With eleven(11)double faults, a 72% first serve to Iga's 90% Gauff shouldn't have won this match as those was her negative numbers..The positives however proved the difference..Gauff converted 5/13 break points, won her service points at 41- Iga's 34! That's 69% to Iga's 48%..on her first (1st service points) and was 69% to Iga's 60% on her (2nd service) points! That's was the separation in this match! After watching Iga's first match and saw her rusty movements and service game.. She wasn't getting past Gauff with that level of rust in her game! If Gauff wasn't beating herself by serving badly Iga was in for a torrid meet as Gauff tracks down every ball..Iga struggles in long rallies and don't like sliced returns with no speed on the ball..
Gauff coaches did their homework as Gauff stayed in the rallies and sliced a lot of returns! With #1 Sabalenka however as was done in the US Open victory having her run is paramount! She's error prone when she got to be moving around!

Seems like others have figured out how to beat Iga on hard courts. They are just punishing her serves and shot balls. They also hit harder 😮 overall. Iga is not a naturally aggressive player. Keep working on it, Iga 🎉.

You can't expect to win a match at that level against a top seed after a 2 months break
Regarding that Iga hasn't played well for quite a while...
