How To Fix Shifter Indicator On Ford 2007 Focus: Went to get an inspection sticker and this was a thing that failed not a big problem went to the junkyard and picked one up for about 5 bucks. you can get the entire housing for about 90 bucks on Amazon, have found just the face as well, see links below.

You might not have to take all the center console out, there is a cover over the shifter that pops off. It may be harder to take the overdrive connector off and put it on but try that first.

I was hoping you were fixing or replacing the plastic strip, it could be mended if not brittle. You could make a new one with a sheet of vinyl from a copy center or lamination scraps. If you have a laser printer, sheet lamitor (hot) and a printable transparency make your own.

Shifter issue?
Brake light issue?

Im posting this on multiple videos ive just seen for brake light and especially SHIFTER not working or pressing in.
For temporary move of the car.. press the button on the side of shifter down (its a circle and may have a cover you need to pop off-its a bypass or failsafe for shifter if it doesnt work) and you can put into drive, you need to press it down every time it goes back into park though, until fixed.

The issue will most likely be fuse 42-15amp, (under driver side footwell area-pop off the cover and replace it) especially if your brake lights arent working. The issue will be the wiring in your hatch. It will detrioirate and get exposed and wires will touch each other or water or whatever the reason is for it to blow a fuse. So also seperate the wires you see a bit, tape them with electrical tape and make sure nothing is exposed or able to touch something else)
(it cant be another reason too but this is a great way to start if it is just brake lights and shifter not working)
Anyway, i hope someone finds this helpful. I just figure it out for my 2002 ford focus zx5 automatic. - after friggin tearing apart the center console however. smh.

i have the common problem of it not being able to be pressed in to switch modes PRND etc. So i have to press the over ride off to the side. Do you think replacing this whole thing same as you will work????
Or maybe its just the shifter stalk itself needs replacing? Or could it be something with the breaks??

I also saw another video saying how it can be blown fuses 31 32 and the rear hatch the cables being exposed.. well no blown fuses and yes on the cables so i taped up a bit but still doesnt work.

Im confused. How can i fix it so i can press it in and move the stalk up and down to change? gosh im confused
