We live in a world where everyone encounters fear. In hundreds of situations throughout scripture, God, knowing how much fear can cripple our lives, said “ Do not be afraid, I am with you, I will never leave you nor forsake you”. These were the exact same words I heard when I felt overwhelmed by fear. But God revealed Himself to me as “Shomri”, a Hebrew word for “protector”. This song was written as a reminder of who God is to us. It is an affirmation of His promises - to stir up our faith as we face adversities and to break every shackle of fear, in Jesus' Mighty Name.

This song was inspired courage and joy in me from the moment I first heard Yeka sing it. First off, the humility Yeka walks in is deep and real. She’s a brilliant powerhouse and has aimed to steward what God’s given her with excellence and grace.

This song is one of my favorites from this set. It’s a banger. Always, always, always, listen to what Holy Spirit wants to say - feelings are momentary, transitory and just that, feelings. God’s word though, presently spoken and written, is perpetually trustworthy. I will not fear for you are with me.
