Can you explain how to simulate a 2phase flow (water and air) through unsaturated soil by using two phase darcys law?

Is it possible to define a mass transfer between the two phases of air and water at those points where the volume fraction is equal to 0.5? The difficulty of the problem here is that the points where the volume fraction is 0.5 are variable and not fixed. In COMSOL, to define a flux, the boundary must be constant. Thank you for your help.

Can you explain why didnt you assign both materials to respective domains? What is the benefit of this?
And a second question, what drives this flow?

Hi, I need to simulate a droplet falling to a solid surface and moving on the surface what kind of phyisics interface should I use level set method or two phase flow method.
