I have a betta fish named Oogie Boogie, and his species is oviparous, but it's really cool because the females lay the eggs and the males gather them up in their mouths and deposit them in bubbles at the surface of whatever body of water they are in (tank, pond, etc.) to develop.

Fantastic video! most of the snakes in my area (southern Victoria, Australia) are ovoviviparous such as our tiger snakes, red belly’s and copperheads. Being so cold and damp, egg laying species just don’t thrive here

Just a few months ago, I caught a pregnant ribbon snake. I love ribbon snakes, so I kept her. When she had babies, I fed all the babies, kept them for a week, then released her and her 24 newborn babies.
They were so cute, and it was fun to feed them and release them :D
Btw, do you have any retics? I’d love a retic care video :D

Hey Emily! I have a question...

Where does one send fanart to? ✨

Btw I really love your educational videos and I hope my parents allow me to keep a snake soon. You really got me to look more into those beautiful creatures! 💚

That means humans are viviparous! So glad I learned these terminologies!

What is the evolutionary benefit of snakes being ovoviviparous? I see the benefits of a mother snake being able to take a clutch everywhere she goes without it being in danger from predators directly, but a viviparous snake would have that same benefit - how vital is that extra egg layer when they're already in the snake?

Honestly you make me laugh so much along with really interesting facts and beautiful snakes!!! Your sense of humour is very dad jokey and I as a 17 yr old girl enjoy it on another level

Great subject! Thanks for the interesting video. Love your channel and have watched all of your videos. The pic of Nearly Headless Nick when mentioning garter snakes as being live-bearing, was great! Made me smile. He looks awesome! Keep up the great work! Cheers from Flint, Michigan!
