How to stop feeling embarrassed and how to let go of cringe memories is a topic not often talked about. However, we all have these memories. They can be disruptive, even painful over time. In this video, I talk about how to let go of these memories. More accurately, I talk about celebrating these memories as doing so allows us to be more open to risk and creativity in future.

Thank you for sharing this video. I constantly have cringe attacks and still have embarrassment from events that occurred more than 20 years ago. I’m still trying to heal from the pain...

My panick attacks come from remembering mortifying experiences, I wish awkwardness was the only extent of my shame

I read a funny thing on Reddit where they say, when the memories pop up, they put the Seinfeld music in the background and laugh at it. I found it useful for small cringe moments, maybe it's different for the bigger ones!

I have very intrusive cringe memories, every day, often multiple times a day.
Many of them hurt so bad, I wince and groan like I'm in physical pain. Sometimes when they sneak up on me, and people are around, I have to cover the groan like I was just clearing my throat, or stretching my neck. Not sure how effective it is >.<

This happens to me on a daily basis. I literally say the words aloud “John, shut up!” during a cringe attack. Even though its a thought. I fucking hate it.

Basically i use to rap like when i was 15 and some guy recorded me and his friends where they was pretending it was good and then heard him on phone saying with the stupid mong like felt less human, happened over 10 years ago and randomly thought about it and it’s stuckk

You don't have to convince yourself that those cringe moments were the best times of your life, because they clearly weren't, and trying to reframe them that way might not feel genuine. Instead, what I do is accept myself fully as a state of consciousness having a human experience. I recognize that navigating this human experience can be tricky, and we might embarrass ourselves often. But that's okay. It's important to give yourself love, understanding, and compassion. By doing so, you can free that version of yourself that's burdened with guilt and shame, allowing you to fully embrace your humanness and learn how to do better next time.

Thanks for this man. Last night I smoked a blunt and called my crush and just started pouring out my heart and singing. It didn’t go well. 😂

I choked on my speech at my brothers funeral and didn't say what I wanted. It's been bothering me for months.
