Ty Segall performing 'Sleeper' Live on KCRW

Prolific garage rocker Ty Segall has been a welcome addition to the LA music scene. KCRW was excited to host the live radio debut of songs from his new self-titled album before its release.

Okay, I'm a 56yr old ex rocker from the 70s. I say "ex" because rock music (not talking about rock n roll) has been dead for 30+yrs. Never heard of this guy but caught his performance just by happenstance on Seth Meyers. Wow! I was blown away! This is old style rock music with instrumental virtuosity just like it used to be.

Ty Segall es una gran promesa que sigue demostrando sus grandes capacidades disco a disco. Desde que en 2008 debutó con su primer trabajo descubrimos sus virtudes, a pesar de que se presentara en diferentes formatos, grupos o proyectos paralelos. Lo suyo es una creatividad continúa, como una necesidad manifiesta de crear sin freno. Esa urgencia le lleva a componer compulsivamente y tal vez estemos ante lo mejor de su producción. El californiano se desata con riffs, composiciones arrebatadoras, funky desbordado y con la virtud impecable de creer a pie juntillas en lo que hace. Pura honestidad.
