dm53 is actually perfect representation, when you get random numbers like flat 750 it's mostly because some people interpolate 60degree numbers without accounting that shell type is more about defeating sloped armour instead of flat one

JustinPlays please talk about the issues that Gaijin is ignoring or the mess that is the QnA. If no one talks about it or acts as a pivot to a movement (similar to Phly for the Parts/FPE change) nothing is going to happen and the game is just going to keep getting worse and worse.

Hey Justin! (and also anyone reading this)

i just played a couple rounds of top tier with this beautiful piece of german OP engineering and i can honestly say it’s the most frustrating thing to play against because of that turret armor and i died just 1 time in 4 games. One time i even faced 2 seperate M1A2s out in the open with my breach and engine knocked and they couldn’t kill me and i lost no crew while i made them both rage quit after i repaired while taking those shots to the face :)

the problem with top tier is an unfixable one that i think is also true in real life:

yeah u get those “gaijin moments” but in reality we also do have dud rounds and malfunctions or other stuff that makes a shell bounce or not penetrate or whatever...so realistic settings and getting gaijined is something i’ve rather adapted to and accepted as a part of reality rather than getting stuck on and complaining all the time about it.
but a huge part of top tier gameplay is the grind and honestly it’s the most frustrating part specially when you’ve grinded through the whole tree going from a lower paced play style with lots of armor and shell meta to a brain dead shoot n scoot kinda play where u NEED the AP and the laser rangefinder and the smoke and all of those upgrades and all those juicy modifications to make a tank work as intended BUT spading a tank in top tier comes at either the cost of your sanity or pocket and most war thunder players opt for the mentally easier option and those absolute chads that grind hours upon hours with no talisman no boosters no money no lube they get frustrated because of those modifications that they had to grind for which is 3 times harder than the grind for the vehicle itself.
top tier players are not rewarded enough even if they play a tank so well with so many kills.
i’m a raw kinda guy you know; and i’ve grinded this game without spending a single penny on it or using boosters and i get max 4.5k RP from top tier games that i get 1-3 place on the team if i have over 5 kills. This is insanity and i’ve gotten used to it (or rather numb) after rage quitting so much that now i enjoy the game even when i die and lose 50k SL.
I really wanna know how this top tier situation can be fixed because my fun tier is definitely 6.7 to 9.7 but gaijin always finds a way to ruin the fun by adding pt-76-57 which has almost the same issue as something like the leopard 2 (superior in design and effectiveness to all adversaries when used by a skilled player)
so yeah i’m glad i have 6 leo2 variants that i enjoy but knowing that it comes at the cost of everyone else’s suffering and the lack of competition makes it so dull i forget about them and go back to playing stupid stuff like dardo or amx50 or t55
playing a spaded leo2a5/6 is like having a wife.
it’s fun for a couple months but soon you feel the urge to burn your house down.
I would like to know your opinion on fixing top tier and the problems with it!

Its just a shame they nerfed the CL3143 APFSDS round on the Italian top tiers, Italy lost their main advantage, which was the best APFSDS before the Leo 2A6, they should reverse the nerf and give back the ol 625mm of pen, also they should get the new B2 Centauro (or just call it Centauro 2), C1 Ariete Hitfact Mk.II (equiped with the same autoloading turret and gun as the B2 Centauro), C2 Ariete (up-armored Ariete with new engine) and the M60A3 Leonardo (a heavily modernised M60A3 with some great armor package and the 120/45 120mm gun), OF-40 Mk.3 (basicly just an upgraded OF-40 mod.2) along with the WW2 Hungarian vehicles (Toldis, Turáns, Nimróds, Csabas, Zrínyis) to fill up some gaps, since this whole tech tree meant to be a pseudo Italian-Hungarian tech tree

-C1 Ariete Hitfact Mk.II (120mm gun)
-M60A3 Leonard(120mm gun)
-OF-40 Mk.3 (105mm gun)

I’d prefer if it kept dm43 and the 2a6 would move to 11.3. Instead gaijin makes both vehicles as similar to one another as possible.

Leopard 2A5 gets DM53.
Meanwhile the strv 122 (with a higher repair cost might I add) is still stuck with DM33.

Miss when mbts were more "balanced." Back then 2a5s with their high mobility/extreme turret armor were held back by lower pen rounds. Yeah some tanks got more love then others, but it made each tank have a unique style. Areite had the god gun but had nothing else, t-80 and the Abrams were the well rounders. Leclerc got to be everything though, which was a bit off.

I love how the Leopard 2A5 is from 1990 and Gaijin thinks its equal to T80BVM from 2018, 28 year difference

As a main german user, DM53 is not a big deal, let me elaborate, most of the top tier tanks (except Russia) has a hull which can be penetrated with 560mm or less (added that most of the time are small or medium maps), so Abrams can pen every tank, Russia, Italy, Great Britain, etc. can do it too, (Japan so far max pen is 481mm, they will get Type 10 and we hope it will get a better dart shell). So every tank can be penetrated in the hull, but T90 and the others with ERA, even the DM53 can't pen that. So if you have any doubts, go check every tank and do the protection test with a "standard 5xx mm dart shell" for example de Abrams or Challenger dart shells and you'll find why it is not a big deal.
