It's not going to change prices it's only going to put people out of work!!!

I can't say I'm sad to see this. I keep going to Fred Meyer to fill my tank, eight lanes but only two are open because of lack of staff and the line is a long wait.

Take some more jobs away it's rediculous nobody is crying I want to pump my on gas please. ⛽️ and no gas station is going to pay attendants if it's set up for both ..

It might lower the price but that’ll only be temporary. The prices will go back up and people will be out of work.

They need to make it self serve already; it’s insane the wait time for some gas stations.. especially at Costco

I was stationed in Italy and we didn’t pump our own gas. This was my first experience. A few years later I moved here and same thing. I don’t mind having my gas pumped for me.

1000's of people will loose their jobs. I hope the governor won't sign it. So what if it takes a minute to get through the line at a cheaper station. What is so important to get to that you can't wait a minute or few. How would you like it if it was your job and it was suddenly gone just for the sake of someone else's convenience. It's wrong.

I live in Oregon, I actually talk to the people pumping my gas, treat them like humans. Many of these people have these jobs because that’s all there is for them. Many are ex addicts and could possibly be jobless and homeless without the opportunity, why are people so heartless?

One point not brought up in all this is Liability in pumping your own gas. If you are pumping your own gas and make a mistake and set the gas station and other vehicles on fire - you are likely going to be liable for costs inquired. And another point is topping off your tank. If a person with a newer car tries to top off their fuel tank after the nozzle clicks off they can damage their gasoline systems evaporate gas fumes control equipment. How many people know the inner workings of the fuel systems on their vehicles and how to properly fuel there vehicles—???. Just something to think about.

Ya - this was important. I mean, ever notice what bills get tabled and what gets worked on? So if we do do you think the price will drop? ALL THOSE ADD - ONS in the price...
And oh wait - they'll get more people on the state? Oh wait again, the gov will force station owners to hire people anyway... All this gov control. Haha. Ya, good work kids.

Oregon made it law to create jobs
I was explained by the city leaders that's one of the reasons our unregulated fuel is higher than other States. Now no discount on self service wouldn't be like other States, you have a choice of self or full serve and a price that's displayed, less cost for them, who is getting the profits.... if you're not paying a worker yet selling the product same price with my labor. And how will that speed things up? How long are you at the gas station and how many days a month? Try going to a State run business, DMV for example, never been in and out there. And Yes, we get the ungraded bottom of the barrel Gasoline and in all the catagories including diesel...
My brother in law is a long distance truck driver/owner!.
He is responsible for 4 semi trucks with 4 drivers including himself... He tells me they cover the nation, and have sampled the gas from many states snd said when forced to fuel up in Oregon
Not only is there a huge drop in fuel mileage but in performance and increase inmaintenance. Him and hundreds of long haulers have attended countless town Hall meetings were at first denieing that lesser grade fuel was pumped into our cities but later the counsel found out indeed low grade gas was being diverted hereband that's where it stands.

Go ahead pump your own gas.
Just remember it will not get cheaper,
In truth the price will not go down.
I'll get paid the same and you get to do all the work.
This really makes my day.
I can finally nap at work. 🎭

This truly is a sad day, this was an easy job to fall back in during college, I did it several times, I don't buy the argument that it won't cut jobs, the oil companies wouldn't want it gone unless they knew they would make money from it being gone, and they aren't lowering prices either,

This should've been done several years ago, but better late than never, now if measure 114 can be removed, even better

There are things that make Oregon different than other states, both good and bad. Not pumping your own gas, and either having to don gloves, or have your hands stink of gasoline all day was a good one. Developers being prevented from paying for the infrastructure needed for new homes (like schools) is a bad one. Why did they get rid of a good thing? Why do they never address the bad?

It was legally required to have gas station attendants? That’s so backwards. I feel for the people who will lose their job but it’s a job that probably shouldn’t exist.

No Tina! Don't do it! Too dangerous, people will lose jobs and ot won't lower the price. People need to learn to wait. If this is all people have to complain about....first world problems...

Self serve gas seems like a decent idea.
WHY does Oregon claim the power to control individual gas station pricing regarding self serve or attendant served?
Leave it to the business owners.
Self serve costs the station less, and they should be able to reflect that in the price.
