I made many Airfix 1/72 kits when I was a kid, and it was “one coat of Humbrol enamel brushed on, done.” No weathering, panel lines, chipping. Not sure *anyone* did that in the 1970s - I never saw anything like it. What amazes me is that you can spray within the very small panels on a 1/72 aircraft. Takes really fine control with an airbrush to do that. I’m getting psyched up to give it a try myself. 😀

I cut my teeth on Airfix many moons ago when I started of building models some 40 yrs ago. Sadly Airfix got left behind. Until Now. I have to say I have built a few of they recent kits, and I for one am glad to say, that airfix are now back in the race. Welcome home Airfix.Keep em coming

Last night I discovered how incredibly small a 1/72 instrument panel was, which I didn't appreciate until I tried to improve it using your methods. In the video it looks a lot bigger! =D

I'm amazed at your skill and patience. It's incredible that you can provide so much detail in such a small model.

I've recently taken up modelling again. The last time I built something I was probably 10 years old and ended up with more camouflage and parts on myself than on the plane. I keep coming back to your videos again and again for hints and trips. I'm learning so much and I'm getting decent results. The models you make look awesome. Thank you so much. Looking forward to your next video 👍😊

Lovely little kit. Nice to see that contrary to the frequently told horror tale, white spirit can be applied on top of acrylic without "destroying" it. At least tamiya/Gunze "acrylic lacquer", I mean.

Superb. Thank you for taking the time, the trouble AND also for expending the no doubt considerable financial expenditure to film this in such clear detail! Your building and painting tips have given me some excellent pointers for future projects albeit sans airbrushing! Very much Liked and Subscribed!!

This is excellent, especially for a 1/72nd scale effort. When I first saw the photo, I thought it must have been 1/48th. Your build style is really interesting in many ways. When I first started watching your channel, I wasn't sure about some of the mild exaggeration of colors, etc., but I have come to really like the effects. I think when you are building a scale model it is often necessary to exaggerate some effects; otherwise the result is a bit too dull for something that is small. Also, the fact that you use so many varied finishing techniques has valuable instructional value because the viewer can pick and choose from those options. Finally, I think you are telling people that its okay to build what suits your eye rather than some people who tend to tell you it should be a certain way to be right. An artistic painter, after all, creates based on impressions. Otherwise we might as well just take photographs. Good work.

I am a beginner modeler and it's one of the models I plan to build (already purchased it). Thx a lot for your video, I find it very well done and very instructive. I learned a lot and will watch others of your vids ;)

Great helpful hint take a long piece of narrow tape and tape under one wing and pull it taught over the top of the plane and under the opposite wing. It will pull the seams together and all you need is to cement. It works great. It's simple, and it saves a lot of

Outstanding result, especially for 1/72. Excellent information on scratch building, construction, and paint modulation. Been modeling for 50+ years, and still learn quite a bit from skilled artists like you. Thanks!

Excellent build. I've noticed in the cockpit when I used tamiya washes on flat paint and then wipe the surfaces before it can dry it leaves a nice kinda stained look. I've been building models for over 40 years and you are still teaching me new techniques. Thank you.

What a way to start the day.. woke up to a YouTube notification.. the long awaited flying s models video had been posted. Watched it in bed and subsequently was late for work! Was worth it though as this build is tremendous. Your attention to detail and skill in executing your work is amazing. Once again thankyou for sharing your videos and talent with us.

nice work ... my last P-40 was the old monogram kit from the 1960s ... surprisingly good for a 50+ year old kit.
