They understand how gyroscopes work when they think plane equipment disproves a globe Earth, but when their own guys proved the Earth was round with a ring laser gyroscope years ago suddenly it's a mystical item with uncertain properties. Rigidity in space and reference frames only get to be real when it's convenient.

"i'm not a pilot, never even been in a cockpit of an aircraft but as i'm a flat eather i can tell qualified and experienced pilots that they don't know how aircraft work and when they try to explain to me, they are wrong" makes perfect sense.

Show me an aircraft that comes in for a landing with its nose down and you see an aircraft that is in deep trouble.

Aerospace engineer here. Very well explained. Flerfs might start out simply ignorant, and in need of clear, simple explanations, but the moment they start denying actual science and engineering they become wilfully ignorant fools deserving only of contempt and ridicule.

I have to give credit where credit is due…if these flat earthers didn’t exist, I probably wouldn’t have learned as much about our planet and aviation as I have the past few years from videos like this. Another great video!

I'll be honest, I don't actually care what flat earthers believe anymore. I just like being introduced to all this stuff that I'd never have any reason to know in my day to day life. Fascinating stuff.

Now where is the gyro that tells the plane to constantly turn to one side if it is flying across the equator "ring" of the flat earth disc?

What I truly appreciate about your videos is how much I learn about topics. You are a great communicator

There is definitely room in the debunking space for mockery and I enjoy it on occasion, but it's a cheap high. This is the only channel that makes videos I can show to my Flat Earth boyfriend because they are generally heavy on the data, clear and concise, and respectful.

Nice to have your regular videos rather than the 2-4 hour live marathons.

Whenever flerfs bring up "pitch data" I ask them if they get very confused how a plane can take off, circuit and land again with the nose pitched up the entire time.

They could just ask pilots and aerospace engineers how this stuff works. But they don't and won't.

so cute how they think they find all these horrible contradictions in the globe model that somehow went unnoticed for centuries

Remember when some flerfers bought a large gyro and noted a 15°/hr tilt then blamed faulty equipment even though it was functioning as expected based on a globe model?

Bob is spinning in his grave, maintaining his orientation and proving a 15°/h drift

You know, there was actually a deadly disaster in Soviet Kazakhistan due to a gyroscope that proves the Earth is round. In 1966, an early Soyuz rocket (Soyuz 7K-OK #1) at Baikonur suffered a launch failure when its boosters failed to ignite. Half an hour later, while the rocket was being safed and inspected, the rotation of the Earth had turned it far enough for its gyro to register 8 degrees of tilt. Since the launch sequence had already transferred guidance to the onboard computer and the computer had not been shut down at that point, it interpreted this as being dangerously off-course and automatically fired its launch escape system. One worker was killed and a fire broke out that ultimately destroyed the rocket.

Some of the coolest ISS videos I've seen are where they demonstrate gyroscopes. Get it spinning, leave it stable, after a few minutes you can see the tilt of the gyro relative to the surroundings. 4 degrees per minute, confirming the 90 minute orbit time.

This is my favorite channel to watch for flat earth debunking because it's the one where I'm most likely to actually learn something
