KTM DUKE 200 : Basic Bike Maintenance Tamil | DIY | RevNitro

Показать описание
Performing basic maintenance on your KTM Duke, such as an oil change and replacing the oil filter, is a great way to keep your bike in excellent condition.
Tools & Materials Needed:
New engine oil: Refer to the KTM Duke owner's manual for the recommended grade (e.g., 10W-50 or 15W-50 synthetic oil).
Oil filter: Get a compatible oil filter for your Duke model.
Drain bolt washer: Replace if damaged.
Tools:
Socket wrench (usually 12mm or 14mm for the drain bolt).
Oil filter wrench or pliers.
Funnel for pouring oil.
Torque wrench (optional but recommended).
Drain pan.
Rags or paper towels.
Gloves (to protect your hands).
1. Warm Up the Engine
Start your bike and let it run for about 3-5 minutes. Warm oil flows better and ensures impurities are drained.
2. Prepare for Draining
Place your bike on a paddock stand or use the side stand if necessary (though a stand is better for leveling).
Position the drain pan under the oil drain bolt.
3. Drain the Oil
Locate the oil drain bolt underneath the engine.
Loosen the bolt using the socket wrench. Be cautious as the oil may be hot.
Let the oil completely drain into the pan. This can take a few minutes.
4. Remove and Replace the Oil Filter
Locate the oil filter (usually on the side of the engine).
Use an oil filter wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the filter.
Allow any remaining oil to drain from the oil filter housing.
Prepare the new filter: Lightly coat the rubber seal of the new oil filter with fresh oil to ensure a proper seal.
Screw the new oil filter into place and tighten it snugly (avoid over-tightening).
5. Reinstall the Drain Bolt
Inspect the drain bolt washer. Replace it if worn or damaged.
Reinstall the drain bolt and tighten it to the recommended torque (refer to your manual for specs).
6. Add New Engine Oil
Remove the oil filler cap on top of the engine.
Using a funnel, pour the recommended amount of oil (check the manual for capacity).
Replace the oil filler cap.
7. Check Oil Level
Start the bike and let it run for about a minute to circulate the oil.
Turn off the engine and let it sit for a few minutes.
Use the dipstick or oil level window to check the level. Add more oil if necessary but do not overfill.
8. Dispose of Used Oil Properly
Transfer the used oil and old filter to a sealed container and take them to a recycling facility.
9. Final Check
Ensure everything is tightened and secure (drain bolt, oil filter, filler cap).
Wipe down any spilled oil.
Go for a short test ride, then check for leaks.
