The way women have campaigned for office has changed. Where women once fought an uphill battle to be taken seriously, now women are embracing their raw determination. In the 2018 congressional election, 257 women were on the ballot. In January, there will be at least 123 women in Congress, the most in United States history.

When they say “going into politics was not my plan”. I don’t know these women’s backgrounds but I do hope they are qualified to be in politics . It’s kinda like how everyone has to be qualified to do a certain job and has to take education courses. I am a teacher and I had to take tons of courses for that. When they say things like what I mentioned I mean does it mean anyone can run for something?

gender, race, religion, & personal preference DOES NOT & SHOULD NOT BE THE MAIN FACTOR WHETHER OR NOT VOTERS SUPPORT & ELECT ANYBODY INTO PUBLIC OFFICE!
POLICIES MATTERS!!!
IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO HAVE POLICIES, YOU MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT THOSE POLICIES FOR ALL AND NOT THE SELECT FEW!!!!

Few seldom recall with any fondness, the era  of great newspapers when women were not even allowed
in their newsrooms, then, when forced, allowed some to write a piece or two on
subjects like home making and the raising of children. In a nutshell, women and
journalism has been one hard sell, have always had to put that something extra
into their reporting that no male can match or touch, creating a place for
themselves. Its little wonder today, whenever a news program is anchored by women,
reported largely by women, it’s a given she must be decked out in streaking
blond dyed hair, long false eyelashes and maybe pouting greasy red lips.
Conclusion, any woman in televison journalism must be dressed for the part…and let
us not forget, that on important stories and occasions, a wig…

Women in broadcast journalism; is there an app for that?
