Will Jailbreaking your iPhone make it slower?

Pangu released their jailbreak tool recently making it possible to jailbreak iOS 9.0, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2. This was great news for many people stuck on iOS 8.4.1 or iOS 9 and needing those nice tweaks.
Also with tools like Forcy and Live Photo enabler + others making your older iPhone being able to use the features of the iPhone 6S, I assume many people will jailbreak.

But will added the jailbreak code to your device make it slower?

In this video we will test iOS 9.0.2 on an iPhone 5, compared with an identical device which has been jailbroken using Pangu 1.0.1.
The Jailbroken device have the following tweaks installed
Forcy
Live Photo Enabler
CC settings.

Music : Orange by Topher Mohr and Alex Elena.

This video was done on two iPhone 5 16GB both loaded with same light backup

It was our intention to do the test on the 4S and 5S as well, but ran into all sort of issues jailbreaking these devices. Followed several tutorials to solve the problems we saw but at the end of the day, it was not worth the effort. We assume that the test results are similar on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S. Just slower on the 4S and faster on the 5S, but still slower than on a non jailbroken device.

I really like the test that you are doing on iPhones. That is really cool and informative for user. Thanks :)

If iphone can let the developer release tweak without jailbreak it would be great, but it isn't. I found that jailbreak still has more advantage to me.

Depends upon what and how much tweaks you have installed

Like other people said, SI or NoSlowAnimation and remove the Forcy. Try use more stable tweaks like ryan petrich stuff. I know each of us will install different things but just in case for now. Try read the CPU and RAM use too.

this is the same speed difference you can see between different types of chipsets on the same Apple Build. Just take a look at what happened recently about Samsung versus TSMC processors on the 6S and 6S Plus.

Not the JB is the problem, but the number of active plugins enabled..If you have forcy + enablelive photos (maybe more, but those 2 i noticed), of course it'll be slow....at least disable those features/plugins for a fair comparison....because this is jailbreak + active plugins...not just jailbreak only :)

It definitely slowed down my device just a little bit. Even without tweaks.

why would you do this on three year old phones, literally makes no sense

Maybe it is slower but what the heck is the function of jailbreak if you aren't install the tweaks that can make your iphone faster like speed intensifier or no slow animatoin that helps you open apps in couple of second faster....

I jailbroke my iPhone 4 still running iOS 4.3.3, and I definitely notice some lag from finishing typing my passcode to when the icons fly in
