The monumental Neoromantic building of the District Court was built at the beginning of the twentieth century. Romanticism, or - in this case - its revival - represented perhaps the most suitable style, capable of building bridges towards the past. As the main ambiental symbol of Zrenjanin, the Square of Liberty with the City Hall presents the best examples of the stylistic architecture. Its openness and visibility from many sides is among its major qualities. The architectural value of this ambient is to be found primarily in facades of the surrounding objects, in clearness of its stylistic adherence and the historic significance of each of the buildings facing the Square.
