We watched the Hale Bopp Comet from the Mojave Desert in 1997. It was fantastic. The length of tail, the colors of the plume. We sat out for hrs under the stars with telescopes. There is a famous shot of a Cowboy/Saguaro cactus with Hale Bopp in the night sky behind it. That shot was taken by someone in the Mojave.
It will return in 4385. Better make some popcorn.
